What do the tours include?
Our tours are all inclusive. We will provide samples at the breweries (as well as gratuity), tours, tastings, water, snacks and safe transportation to and from the locations. Some of the longer tours will include some form of lunch or dinner. Please see tour details.
When in doubt, eat a big breakfast or lunch depending on tour times.
When and where do you pick up?
The Growler Bus typically will be parked in the commercial loading zone on Broad Street directly across from the Pickering Square Parking Garage. The bus will be facing Key Bank Plaza. We ask that folks congregate behind Nocturnem Draft Haus on Broad Street. In the summer, they have a nice deck area with tables. In the winter, or if you don't see anyone please come inside.

Please be at departure location 15 minutes in advance of departure time to allow for check in. Departure times are as scheduled on your tickets and are firm as we are working with other businesses. You will be returned to the same location.
Where should I park so I don’t get ticketed or towed?
The Parking Garage is always open and free for the first 2 hours. After that, 2-3 hours $1.50. Each additional hour is 50¢ (or fraction thereof) to a 24-hour maximum $4.50 (your best bet on a Friday).

On Saturdays and Sundays you can park in The Key Plaza Parking lot on Water Street. It’s at the end of Broad Street. A 1-minute walk to departure point. Do not park there on Fridays or you will pick up your car from impound. We ask that you don’t park on Broad Street as it is very limited.
Do I need my ID?
You need to be 21 to ride the bus. NO exceptions. We will card you. Think of it as flattering. Some day, you’ll beg to be carded. Our State is very strict on this. Valid IDs are drivers licenses, state ID cards, passports or military IDs.
Will I get intoxicated?
The main purpose of The Growler Bus is to give you a wide variety of samples from our local breweries. It is our hope that you will sample something that you love and will want to take home with you or seek out at a later date. You probably will get somewhat tipsy along the way. As long as you are having fun, not being a nuisance to others or disrupting the trip then we encourage the fun.

We encourage responsible imbibing and light mayhem. If you are an ass, we will leave you on the side of the road.
It looks like most tour times run through lunch. Are we stopping to eat along the way?
On most tours we will not stop for lunch (unless otherwise noted on the itinerary). We will, however, have light snacks on the bus.
Nocturnem Draft Haus is a great stop after your morning tour or before your afternoon tour. We recognize you’ll be ready for some good food and possibly more beer and will reserve a table for those wanting a meal after the tour. Always serving the best the beer world has to offer, they also have great burgers, sandwiches, salads and charcuterie.
You post that departure times are 10:30, 11:00 and 11:45 AM. Do people really start drinking that early?
Yep, we do. Tasting rooms open at 11AM most days. Think of it as morning stretching of your liver or that you live in Europe.
What does the price of the ticket cover? Do I need to bring more money or a card?
Our tours are inclusive. The cost includes transportation to and from all the destinations as well as samples, tours and gratuity at the breweries. Light snacks and water will be provided on the bus. BUT, we do encourage the economic stimulation of our local brew scene. Most of our stops have t-shirts, hoodies, hats and other goodies for sale. Most importantly, they have growlers and sometimes bottles for taking with you.
Am I allowed to drink on the bus?
Yes you are. BUT...we ask that you limit your onboard consumption to beer and wine. NO LIQUOR!
We also ask that you exercise some sense when contemplating what to bring with you. You are embarking on a BEER TOUR after all...

We operate our tour under a limo license in the State of Maine. The normal “no open container” law does not apply to us. We encourage the sampling of all our breweries' offerings on the bus. If you do crack one, you had better share with your newfound friends. The beer experience is about sharing with friends. Unfortunately, we as the drivers cannot and will not sample.

We do ask that you leave any open containers on the bus as you cannot have open containers in public. At the end of the tour, please take any trash with you. Carry In, Carry Out.
Will the Growler Bus cancel or alter a tour?
We may need to cancel or alter a tour due to the weather or other issues. We may have to make adjustments on the fly. If we do need to cancel entirely, we will refund your ticket cost or give a credit to a future tour, whichever you prefer.

We would like to have at least 6 people on each tour. If there are less than 6 registered guests the day before the tour, we reserve the right to cancel it and refund your ticket price or give you a credit to a future tour. We will always let you know as soon as we can if there are not enough people on the bus so you can make other plans or recruit some more drinking buddies.
Do you provide any non-alcoholic drinks during the tour?
Hydration is very important to a good time. We will always have a cooler with ice and water for refreshment.
Oh NO! I’m going to be late! Will you wait for me?
Because we are getting private tours at each facility, we have to maintain the schedule and we may not be able to wait for you at the start of the tour.
What's the cancellation policy if I can't make it?
We understand that things come up, but remember that your reservation prevents someone else from taking the tour if you cancel. If you cancel more than 72 hours prior to the tour, we will offer you a gift certificate to a future tour or a refund minus any processing fees.
**Private Tours**

We understand that things come up, but remember that your reservation prevents us from scheduling another private or public tour if you cancel. If you cancel more than 2 weeks prior to the tour, we will offer you a gift certificate to a future tour or a 75% refund minus any processing fees.

Within 2 weeks out we will offer you a gift certificate to a future tour or a 50% refund minus any processing fees.

Within 1 week out, we cannot offer a refund or a credit.

If you cancel within 72 hours of the tour, we can offer you a gift certificate to a future tour.

If you cancel within 48 hours of the tour, we cannot offer a refund or a credit.
Does the bus have a wheelchair lift?
We apologize, but The Beast does not have a lift.
Can I just show up?
You certainly can try, but it is subject to availability. We prefer that you let us know ahead of time so we can plan for drinks and snacks, and make sure there are enough people signed up to run the tour.
Can we get a private/group tour?
Sure! See the Special Events page to submit your request! We'd love to help you craft your ideal custom event.
Uh-oh. I'm still a little tipsy. How do I get home?
Safety is always our priority. We want everyone to get home without incident. If you feel you can’t operate your vehicle safely after the tour, we are happy to assist in getting a cab or arranging for other transportation.
There are also many Uber and Lyft drivers in the area.
What if I'm obnoxious and rude?
Guess what? If the tour operators feel you are being overly disruptive or if you show up intoxicated, you will be asked to leave the tour with no refund.
